Mark Woodward awarded the CORE "Customer Service Award",  February 2012

 

            

             

 

Mark Woodward has consistently displayed excellent customer service, particularly in the area of working with physicians. He has a reputation of being able to work well with even the most challenging callers, and has been a great role model for customer service in the donor referral department.   Mark is always understanding, patient, and respectful; all qualities that make us so lucky to have him!

   

 

 

David Hoss awarded the first CORE "Customer Service Award",  January 2012

 

            

             

 

The CORE Committee has created a new award for 2012. It is the “Customer Service Award” David Hoss has been selected as our first winner! David’s name was the first one suggested and the CORE Committee unanimously agreed! David has consistently demonstrated each and every one of our core values in your interactions with all at CORE. In particular, no matter how irritated, angry, frustrated, confused or “dumb” one of us has been, David has always remained pleasant, calm, respectful, understanding and responsive to everyone’s needs. David never hesitates to educate us on what the computer issue was and what we need to do. We appreciate David’s excellent customer service!

  

 

 

Sharon Fuller awarded CORE Optimist, November 2011

 

            

             

Sharon better known as the Voice of CORE, can light up a room with a smile whether you encounter her on the phone or face to face.  She exudes a positive attitude to visitors and staff that always makes a person feel welcomed.  Her optimistic personality is a true reflection of CORE’s value for compassion. Sharon shared with us that her mom was her role model and that her steps were in order by God.   Let us not forget that pound cake makes her very happy.

Amy Weisgerber always has a knack to accentuate the positive. Ask any of her co-workers and she is able to turn frowns upside down and point of lessons learned even in the most severe situations. Her bright personality can only be matched with her ability to articulate complex concepts in ways everyone can understand. Her bubbly personality and sincere compassion comes through in each project she is involved in whether it’s creating physician educational materials or speaking to donor families. Amy is a treasure to have!

George is an enthusiastic gentleman who exemplifies the qualities of a person deserving  the "Optimist of the Month" Award. While the demands of the lab can be quite stressful he is able to stay positive, which in turn creates a productive environment for those interacting with him. He does not simply dismiss the chronic complainer; he is always ready to listen to a colleague or point out a more positive point of view. George is a dedicated and hard working member of the CORE team that credits his family for his ability to remain so optimistic.

Patrick Scott is a very hard working individual who always remains optimistic no matter how hard times may be. He remains a positive person because he always views the glass as half full. Patrick is well respected through the organization for his knowledge and compassion which he brings to the CORE family and with the families which he helps through their darkest hours. Patrick lives all of CORE's values both in and out of the office, which is what makes him a very special individual. CORE is very happy to have such a great individual working with us to help spread organ, tissue, and cornea donation awareness.

Michelle has a winning attitude that embraces all challenges and encourages collaboration. The phrase "team player" is often overused, but Michelle is truly that. She draws the best out of every person, promotes talent and shares successes.  She has been able to take a personal tragedy and grow from it, infecting everyone she meets in a positive way.  Michelle is consistently pleasant, tackling all assignments with dedication and a smile.

Charlie is the Associate Director of Information Technology at CORE. He has been a dedicated & caring employee for over 11 years. Charlie has a love for life that is displayed everyday in his interactions with others. Charlie will always take a minute to not just say “Hi”, but ask you how your weekend was, how your day is going, etc. He is never too busy to take a few minutes to listen. Charlie has a great sense of humor and keeps us all chuckling with his off-the-cuff remarks. Charlie is a great role-model at CORE for his positive & “can-do” attitude and his passion for donation. Ashley Farione is always very friendly with all staff.  She is willing to help anyone in need especially when she has been out for hours on cases.  She never complains, she is the first to ask “what can I do to help”.  She is an asset to this organization and to the Recovery Department.

If you look up the word "optimist", you should find Diane’s photo.  She accepts challenges as opportunities for improvement and always does so with a smile.  Diane attributes her attitude to her father, whose direction and guidance showed her how to embrace “opportunities” with a positive attitude in order to achieve optimal outcomes – to make the most of each and every day.  Diane’s purpose-driven philosophy and attitude provide CORE staff with examples through excellent leadership which all can emulate.

      Karen, was chosen for the Optimist Award by a committee comprised of representatives of various CORE departments and was given a certificate of recognition and front door parking for the month of June. Karen was awarded this special recognition by demonstrating a positive attitude, being a strong role-model for excellent customer service, and never seems to have a bad day.

Susan A. Stuart was one of 25 Pittsburgh area business women to receive the Business Women First Award on March 12, 2010. Susan was nominated by her staff.  The awards program was sponsored by the Pittsburgh Business Times and area businesses. Final selections were made upon the nominee’s impact on the community, dedication to a mission and leadership skills and values. Susan’s deep commitment to donation and to CORE, along with her business acumen, guidance to staff and community involvement all contributed to her selection as an award winner. CORE is proud to have Susan receive this distinguished honor and are pleased that the CORE CEO has been recognized regionally for all she accomplishes for organ and tissue donation.
