The purpose of the Transplant Games of America is to spread the message about the importance of donation and the gift of life. The multi-sport festival attracts organ, tissue and bone marrow transplant recipients, living organ donors and donor families from across the country. More than just an athletic event, the Transplant Games of America highlights the critical importance of organ and tissue donation, while celebrating the lives of organ donors, recipients and donor families.

There are numerous sporting events, including: run, walk, badminton, basketball, cycling, golf, swimming, table tennis, tennis, track and field, swimming, volleyball, bowling and racquetball.

Aside from the sporting competitions, which take place over four days, the event includes spectacular opening and closing ceremonies and a series of tributes to many of the heroes of organ donation. Athletes and their families, donor families and thousands of supporters gather to help deliver the important message that organ, eye and tissue donation saves lives.
