Where Can I Get
Additional Help?
There are many resources available to help you manage
specific problems you have related to the loss of your
loved one. The following checklist gives you general
information about community and regional sources.
Your CORE coordinator can provide you with
more information about the specific individuals
or organizations available in your area.
Counselors.
Professionally-trained counselors offer
individual, family or group counseling sessions to help
you work through your grief and adjust to your loss.
Support groups.
Individuals who have experienced the
same sort of loss as you often band together in support
groups to share experiences, feelings, and practical
information about coping with their loss.
Professional agencies.
Local social services or mental
health organizations are available to provide educational
materials, emotional support, or practical assistance
to grieving individuals.
Publications.
There is a wide range of reading material
available, some free of charge, on topics related to grief.
