Advisory Board
The CORE Advisory Board is
comprised of 22 to 25 members
and must include professionals
from transplant centers, intensive
care or emergency departments,
tissue banks, voluntary health
organizations, public members,
histocompatibility members,
neuroscience physicians,
transplant surgeons, organ donor
families, chief medical directors,
and medical directors of an
eye bank.
The board is responsible for the
oversight of a number of issues,
including organ procurement,
effective agreements to identify
potential donors, professional
education, arrangements for
procurement of donated organs,
assurance that allocations are
consistent with Organ
Procurement Transplant Network
(OPTN) rules, and to arrange
cooperation with tissue banks.
