We feel extremely
humbled and grateful
for Chance’s excellent
health and for what
an outstanding
athlete he is in every
sport he’s a part of,
“
”
They say it’s what you do before the start of the
season that makes you a champion.
For Chance Dull, he’s been building up to his first
varsity wrestling season since he first received his
liver transplant at age 8.
With a record of 15-11 and 6 pins, Chance excelled
in 2015 as one of the team’s most improved players,
says his mother, Trina Geisler.
Trina says, “and for the normal and active life
that he leads.”
She says his athleticism—and his full and active
life—is something their family will never take
for granted.
“We know full well how quickly that can change,
and we are grateful for every healthy day that we
have,”Trina says. “I can honestly say we are grateful
for everything.”
ECHO
CORE participated for the first
time in a national social media
campaign designed to make a
splash about organ donation in
each and every community.
The Donate Life ECHO
campaign—an acronym for Every
Community Has Opportunity—
was the brainchild of Donate
Life America and the Association
for Multicultural Affairs in
Transplantation (AMAT).
Participants aimed to achieve
two objectives: to focus on the
power of sharing one’s personal
decision to register as an organ,
eye and tissue donor with
members of one’s community;
and to encourage registered
donors to ask members of their
personal networks and extended
communities to talk about
donation and to register.
National Donor Day
CORE shared love by encouraging
Facebook users to use the hashtag
#GotHeart and shared stories
about those touched by heart
donation or transplantation.
“We decided to create a social
media campaign highlighting
recipients – heart recipients,
primarily – and donor families
whose loved ones were able to
donate their heart,” said Colleen
Sullivan, community outreach
coordinator for CORE. “They
created paper hearts and wrote a
word in the center that describes
how they felt about donation and
transplantation.”
The campaign was a success
and brought much-deserved
attention to recipients and donor
families on February 14, National
Donor Day.
