Team Pittsburgh Pep Rally
and Transplant Games
CORE hosted a Team Pittsburgh
Pep Rally event for more than
25 members of the team, which
consisted of donor families,
transplant recipients and
living donors who had the
opportunity to sign a flag that
traveled across the country for
more than 40 other teams to sign.
This flag was then flown at the
Transplant Games of America in
Houston, Texas on July 12, 2014.
During the Transplant Games,
a multi-sport festival event
for individuals who have
undergone life-saving transplant
surgeries, Team Pittsburgh won
an impressive number of medals.
Thirty-four members of Team
Pittsburgh, including 19 CORE
volunteers, participated in events
including, among many more, a
5k race/walk, ballroom dancing,
bowling, swimming, table tennis,
golf, and track and field.
