TO EXCELLENCE AWARD
Nominated by CORE, Dr. Kyle Soltys received a 2014 Tribute to
Excellence Award, presented by the American Liver Association’s
Pittsburgh chapter. Dr. Soltys, an assistant professor of surgery
at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC and a transplant
surgeon for the Thomas E. Starzl Transplantation Institute, was
honored alongside other award recipients at the annual awards
luncheon on Friday, March 7 at the Fairmont Pittsburgh.
An advocate known for his continued dedication and support
of organ donation, Dr. Soltys has devoted his life to providing
care to children in need of life saving organ transplants. He
specializes in the treatment of pediatric patients with liver
disease, caring for children who develop acute liver failure.
He continues to be a true champion for CORE by participating in
speaking engagements, national presentations on pediatric organ
donation and attending workshops. During his speaking
engagement with the Organ and Tissue Donation Awareness
Education program, he provided pediatric liver transplant
education to high school seniors.
Dr. Soltys cares deeply for the health and well-being of his
patients and is a pioneer in the treatment and recovery of
pediatric patients.
